The e-TOLL system will be based on VITRONIC devices, installed on gantries and at toll plazas and located along the A2 and A4 expressways, that enable control of the accuracy of toll payment. Once again, VITRONIC supports the Ministry of Finance with its innovative vision technology.
An agreement between VITRONIC Machine Vision Polska Sp. z o. o. and the State Treasury, represented by the Minister of Finance, Funds and Regional Policy, concerns the design, construction and maintenance of checkpoints for the Control System in the Electronic Toll Collection System of the National Revenue Administration. The scope of work includes design, construction and commissioning of 19 new checkpoints (gantries) over toll roads in Poland. VITRONIC will also adapt the existing infrastructure located around the "gates" that are part of the manual toll collection system (21 toll plazas) on sections of the polish A2 and A4 expressways to serve as checkpoints. The Control System will be equipped by VITRONIC with devices allowing verification of the accuracy of toll collection.
Within the e-TOLL system, automatic control of tolls is possible by using devices, i.e. cameras and sensors, manufactured by VITRONIC. The system, mounted on gantries located over toll roads, reads registration numbers, ADR plates and classifies vehicles in all road conditions.
One checkpoint can serve multiple lanes in both directions simultaneously. Highly effective detection and identification technology allows controlling even at high speeds and during traffic congestion, when changing lanes, at night or in fog. Our solution enables smooth traffic without the need for time-consuming stopping at the existing "gates", and thus it will significantly facilitate and improve traveling around Poland, shortening the travel times, and subsequently its costs.
VITRONIC is the world's leading innovation driver for machine vision, enabling its customers to master the challenges of tomorrow.
The family owned group of companies develops forward-looking solutions in the form of specialized products and software for image-based quality inspection, identification and process optimization, which find application in the growth sectors of automation and traffic engineering.
VITRONIC solutions make an important contribution to helping shape a safe and sustainable world. The existing limits of what is economically feasible are constantly being questioned in order to achieve the highest quality and productivity, for example in the production of automotive and pharmaceutical companies. Worldwide, Auto-ID solutions in logistics centers and at cargo airports, take over the reliable and efficient recording of shipments and thus ensure a transparent flow of goods.
In the transport sector, VITRONIC offers leading technology for increased safety on the roads, for optimizing traffic flow and for recording road usage.
Open and honest dealings with our customers form the foundation for jointly exploiting technological and process potential to the full. Joint success forms the basis of long-term cooperation with companies such as B. Braun, BMW, Daimler, DHL, UPS, Toll Collect, Fresenius and Sanofi as well as with public clients.
Since its foundation in 1984, VITRONIC has been growing continuously for almost 40 years. The current annual turnover (2022) is 208 million EUR and the company is currently represented on five continents in over 80 countries with more than 1,400 employees.
